The ESL with James team is made up of our founder, other Expert ESL educators, and a network of global student recruiters.

All of our teachers are native English speakers with at least 10 years of ESL teaching experience each. Each instructor also brings professional expertise in the industries they teach—whether it’s nursing, IT, or international business—ensuring that students receive language instruction that is practical, relevant, and career-focused. Our recruiters work closely with students to match them with the right program, schedule, and support system for success.

James Yang is the founder of ESL with James, a premium English fluency training platform serving global professionals in healthcare, IT, and business. With over 19 years of experience teaching in the U.S., China, Mexico, and Brazil—including at DC Public Schools (DCPS) and Prince George’s Community College (PGCC)—James combines a deep background in education with real-world global perspective.

James holds a Master of Science in Biomedical Informatics from Taipei Medical University and a Bachelor of Arts in English Composition with a Biology minor from the University of South Carolina. This unique combination of language and science qualifies him to coach professionals in both technical and healthcare fields—whether preparing for interviews, leading presentations, or communicating across borders.

He’s trained everyone from C-suite executives to career changers, helping students succeed in real-life communication through customized feedback, workplace-based simulations, and clear, structured lessons. His coaching style blends expert instruction with compassion, cultural insight, and a powerful belief that every learner can—and should—own their voice.
